Quads generally come with specific safety features that reduce the risk of serious injury. Quads are a type of all-terrain vehicle. ATVs or all-terrain vehicles is an umbrella term that encompasses many different types of motorized vehicles. All-terrain vehicles can be two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, six-wheelers, dump trucks, and side-by-side vehicles. As a result of the wide variety of all-terrain vehicles on the market, a short-hand was created. Quads are four-wheelers. Quads come in two main styles, sports and utility. Quads that are classified as sports machines have better acceleration and speed than quads that are utility vehicles. Sports quads are generally built for racing and extreme sports competition. Quads that are utility all-terrain vehicles are more powerful, heavier, and can haul and tow more than sports quads. Utility quads are typically used by hunters, farmers, ranchers, and other people who work outdoors.
