A 4 wheeler is an all terrain vehicle that has four wheels and can sit one person who rides it like a motorcycle. A four wheeler can come in a variety of sizes, colors and designs for different uses. Some of these four wheeled models are made for sport such as racing and motocross.

While the weight does vary between models, these off road models are usually light enough in weight to provide easy handling. Plus, they have a low center of gravity. This helps increase speed and stability while racing your quad. Many quad wheel models are better for utility and used mostly for agriculture purposes. These four wheeled utility models are larger and heavier than the sports models. These special models can carry loads on racks or beds attached to either the front or the back of the 4 wheeler. Quad wheel engines vary in size from 49cc to 1000cc. The speed and the power of the model depends on the engine size. While larger engines have more power for carrying larger loads and towing, they have also proven to be excellent for a variety of extreme off road courses. Four wheeled models with smaller engines are best for children because the engine does not have as much power and is lighter. For the highest level of safety, children should not drive four wheeled all terrain vehicles that have an engine larger than 90 cc. These vehicles can come in various colors such as red, blue, green, brown, black, yellow and various types of camouflage.
